Catnic lintels are manufactured from hot-dipped galvanised steel to BS EN10142 2000 grade DX51D & Z275 with a black polyester resin finish. The protection system complies fully with the chemical and physical test requirements outlined in Table 2 of BS5977 Part 2 1983 for lintels effectively having their own built-in damp proof course.
This double method of protection gives Catnic lintels inherent benefits. The polyester coating in the Catnic process provides an effective barrier against moisture or chemical attack leached from the masonry construction.
The Duplex protection system gives Catnic lintels an economically reasonable working life of 60 years as expressed in the Construction Products Directive and satisfies BS5977:1983. Catnic standard perforated lintels are compliant with the requirements of the Building Regulations Part 1 that became effective in April 2002.
Catnic Lintels are BSI Kitemark and BB of Agrement Certified
